CloudScout Removal Guide
CloudScout is advertised as a browser extension that will block unsafe websites that may cause damage to your PC. It seems like a useful application, unfortunately, in reality it will do the exact opposite of what it promises. CloudScout exposes you to third party advertisements some of which may be unreliable.
That is why it is classified as a potentially unwanted program or adware. The main purpose of the software is to promote its associated sites. It has nothing to do with improving your online security. If you want to get rid of CloudScout adverts and return to uninterrupted Internet surfing you should uninstall CloudScout from your PC.
How does CloudScout work?
The ad-supported program will fill your browsers with adverts labeled ‘Ads by CloudScout’, ‘Powered by CloudScout’ and so on. The advertisements will appear on all sites that you visit, even if they have nothing to do with online shopping. Make sure you avoid clicking on them as they may lead you to untrustworthy webpages. You could be exposed to corrupted websites that present malware as useful tools or software updates. Do not download programs from unknown sites and only update your applications on their official pages.
There is no doubt that you should delete CloudScout, since the application is not useful in any way. However, you should also know how to avoid similar software in the future. The adware is distributed together with bundled freeware that is hosted on sites like cnet.com, softpedia.com, filewin.com, brothersoft.com and similar. When you install software from these pages, you need to be especially attentive. During the installation process you will be asked if you want to install additional programs. If you do not decline these offers, you will allow other potentially unwanted applications to enter your system. You should always choose Custom installation option and deselect all unnecessary programs.
How to remove CloudScout from my PC?
There are two ways to eliminate CloudScout from your computer. One is to uninstall the adware via Control Panel and the other is to use a malware removal tool. If you choose option number one, you can follow the instructions presented below. If, however, you think that there may be other unwanted applications on your PC (which is rather possible), you should download and install an anti-malware utility. The tool will scan your system, detect all threats and remove CloudScout along with them. It will also protect your computer from other parasites that you may encounter online in the future.
