What is Reimage?
Reimage is a potentially unwanted program that is promoted as an optimization tool. The application comes with AVG Safeguard Toolbar which is why you may think that it is useful. AVG develops anti-virus systems that are free-of-charge and are beneficial to the computer user. However, the same can not be said about Reimage.
The program works on Windows XP, 7, Vista and Windows 8. It claims that it can restore your system performance and provide it with the newest files. Unfortunately, the program will not do any of these things unless you purchase its full version. So, if you do not wish to do that you should delete Reimage.
How does Reimage work?
Reimage has an official page reimageplus.com where you can download the application. If you do not pay much attention to the information provided on the website, you may not notice that in order to activate all features of the program you have to purchase its full version. During the installation process you are also offered to install AVG toolbar and AVG Secure Search. You can, of course, deselect these boxes that way you can avoid these changes. Keep in mind that no matter what freeware you are installing you should always pay attention to the installation process and if offered applications that you have no use for, deselect them.
Once Reimage gets installed, it starts an automatic system scan. Usually, various errors are found on your computer and presented in the scan results. Then a Start Repair button appears that you should click in order to purchase the full version of the program. The cost of the application may vary depending on your location, but is usually somewhere around 50 euros. Considering that the application is also promoted via pop-up ads, it is not recommended to risk wasting your money on this program. We suggest you uninstall Reimage and invest into a reliable anti-malware tool.
