  3. Click LAN settings
  4. Un-check the box under Proxy Server

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Click on the menu and select Options
  2. Open the Advanced tab
  3. Click Network tab and choose Settings
  4. Click Manual Proxy Configurations
  5. Apply the changes and click OK

Google Chrome

  1. Open the menu and pick Settings

  3. Click on Network and Change proxy settings

II. Alter TCP/IP settings

Windows XP

  1. Click on Start and go to Control Panel

  4. Click Properties
  5. Select either Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)
  6. Or Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)
  7. Select Obtain an IP address automatically
  8. And Obtain DNS server address automatically

Windows Vista

  1. Click Start and open Control Panel
  2. Select Network and Internet
  3. Go to Network and Sharing Center
  4. Choose Manage Network Connections
  5. Right-click the connection to edit it
  6. Select Properties and then Network tab
  7. Choose Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)
  8. Or Internet Protocol Version 4
  9. Click Properties again
  10. Select Obtain IP address automatically and
  11. Obtain DNS server address automatically

III. Modify Windows Hosts file

  • Go to C:Windowssystem32driversetc.
  • Open hosts file with Notepad
  • The last line must be either ::1 or 127.0.0.1
  • Remove everything else below it

IV. Delete unwanted add-ons
